pink actionwood
« on: July 11, 2014, 09:41:00 AM »
I am building my daughter a new bow and would like to use pink actionwood for the riser. Does anyone have a small piece they would like to sell or trade? I can't seem to find any suppliers that offer stock in smaller dimensions...I only need 1.5x2.5x13". It's for a 3 piece takedown.
Thanks guys!

I was kinda leaning toward a solid pink color, but I will definitely keep that in mind. Thanks!

Alternatively, you could have a look at pink ivory wood.

Kauz,
I'm not familiar with pink ivory...any details on where to locate some? I usually shy away from using actionwood, just have strict orders that the bow needs to be pink and purple. I have a nice piece of purpleheart that I could use for an accent with the pink ivory?

Unfortunately, as I'm living in Germany the sources I know would be rather useless for you. The wood grows in Southern Africa.
Google says:
  http://www.exoticwoodsusa.com/order_pink_ivory.htm
  http://www.rarewoodsusa.com/wood
  http://www.hearnehardwoods.com/hardwoods/pricelist/pricelist.html#pink_ivory

Perhaps there is something of use for you.

P.S. found another:

Thanks Kauz! Just got a chunk of pink ivory lined up to go with the purpleheart that I already have.

Thanks everyone for all the help...it is much appreciated!
