I just got a nice supply of ~70lb spines pre straightened and tempered bamboo shafts. After making my first few arrows I have some questions I hope someone might have answers to.
1) glue on points never seem to be a good fit, since the diameter of the shaft varies throughout the shaft. Are there better ways of putting target points on bamboo (tanged points, footing the shaft, ect...)
2) What would be the effect of sanding the nodes down flush with the rest of the shaft? Will it dangerously weaken the shaft?
Thanks in advance for any information.
