So I opened my oven today....
« on: April 19, 2015, 04:37:00 PM »
So I was cooking a template I had pressed into my form today cause I've been struggling to fit my riser. After 4 hrs I opened to box and it was SOAKED, condensation all over everything!!! Like a sauna when I opened the box!!!

What would cause this? This is the first time this form has been into the oven, it is made from a LVL beam, I put a pretty thick coat of wax on it buuuuuttt......

Should I cook the form off for a while with the lid cracked? Is she gonna warp on me? I'm lost and at wits end I have struggled so much with this form and to lose it now would push me over the edge.

Thanks for your time, knowledge and input in advance!!

My LVL press put out a lot of moisture too the first time. It dried out and held its shape. It wouldn't hurt to let it spend some time in there with the lid open a bit, and then check it for accuracy after it's dried out.

Don't stress! It should be ok if left for a while with the lid open. Making forms gets easier after you've done a few!

Get yourself a double handful of charcoal braquets and throw in the bottom of your heat box. Problem solved.
