KennyM bow lengths
« on: June 26, 2015, 10:36:00 PM »
I have been looking at the KeenyM bows people have been making on here and would like to try one to get my feet wet into builing laminated bows but I have a 32" draw would the 66" bow I seen the plans for on here work for me?

I have built more than a dozen of Kennys D/R design, most of them 66" long. I helped a High School senior build a 66" 2 years ago, he has a 31" draw so I know they shoot very nicely at 31" draw. The picture is of Helens "KennyM design" 66" target bow, I added alot of Glass to the riser for weight.

I have mainly made 66'' off the 64'' form and they rock!

Sorry, only done the 64", my 28" draw doesn't require a 66"

These other guys have built several off the 64" form ,looks like. It would move your limb tips slightly ahead which wouldn't be a bad thing .

My 58" will go to 29" draw no prob so I think you'll be in good shape for 32" with a 66"
Stay sharp, Kenny.

thanks so much for the replies. I haven't been able to study the plans yet in detail so pardon the dumb questions but when making the 64" form do you have to add length to it to make the 66" or is the 64" form long enough?

It will do a 66" easily if you make the form blank 72" long. Then just measure around the curve from centerline and make sure you have at least 35" as it will be 33" from center to nocks.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
