So I talked to Elmont about shortening the 68" design. in order to make the bow 64" NTN he said that I need to move the pin two inches up the form , and remove 2" from the butt of the limb template. The problem is ......If I do all of this I end up with something like 62.25 NTN........

I have not started the bow only running through the layout . Just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

How are you measuring it?  Straight from NTN or along the bows unbraced profile (i.e. following the curve of the limbs)?  It should be the latter.

If you want 64" shorten riser to 15" and bring pin in 1" on limb form.

Al Dean , I want the 17" riser. I had thought about dropping the riser length but opted to keep it 17" on the first one .

So the plans are off? My problem is........If Binghams instructions for shortening the bow are as I listed above , I ordered lams for a 64" bow ,do I build it like they stated and endup 62" or do I alter to actual 64" . If I build it at 62" how much weight will the 2" loss add?

It depends to a degree on the weight you are making the bow but around 5#

I've built over 40. But after the first one I changed everything from riser length to limb profile to pad angle to creat my own. I use a 16" riser. If you follow his plans it will turn out just as he says.
Mike is correct about 5# if everthing is exactly the same and you chop off 2 inches.
