B-50 Flemish String Problem??

Hello Fellas,

Since I am back to shooting a recurve after a 25 year absence, I am back to learning the subtitles of recurve vs compound.

Here's my issue: I am using a B-50 string with my 45lb 1970 Kodiak Magnum, and I noticed that there are cut ends of the strands sticking out from the string 4" or so from the loop. I unstrung the bow, waxed the string, and tucked the ends back into the twists, but after 40 shots or so they are sticking out again.

Is this normal or is the string unraveling?

I do have the string twisted pretty tight.

If this is a flemish twist string those are just the tag ends. Trim them off and you will be fine. They are normal.

The string is stretching like hell too, which I hear is normal as well, but I was worried that the two were related.

continuous stretching of b50 (dacron) is just the way it is.

Ive been to Zimbabwe 3 times.....once in West Nicholson, Beitbridge, and the Matopas. I love Zimbabwe and hope that once Mugabe croaks they get a good leader but you know how things are there.

You know allot about Zimbabwe. Can you imagine how great a place it was before Mugabe? It must have been a paradise on earth.

am originally from south africa- and zimbabwe has to be one of the most beautiful and bountiful places on earth. from the sweltering heat of the zambezi valley to the misty eastern highlands, all just teaming with wildlife. incredible area. last time i was there the rural people up near vic falls were cooking bark to eat- they had nothing!!!meanwhile Mugabe ( amongs many other things...)owns hotels in England, and his wife loves to fly out to London for her clothes shopping!!
maybe one day we will all be able to go back....
