"Layman" Tillering/Drawboard
« on: February 05, 2016, 06:44:00 PM »
As part of my winter projects I'd like to build a drawboard to measure preload and where my various bows stack. I also have drank the ILF kool-aid and woukd like to "play" with the tiller adjustments.

My current plan is a round dowel for the grip and a ratcheting friction hitch instead of a boat winch. (Hard to explain, I use to climb trees...it works, and I much prefer it to clankity ratchets.)

This allows me infinite adjust of drawlength with scaling ability.

Do any of you have suggestions or advice, things you'd wish you'd known before putting together your first drawboard?
