Is there a Doctor in the house
« on: April 30, 2016, 11:31:00 AM »
I picked up this bow back in the fall. It had a small crack in the upper tip. I tried to get some thin super glue in the crack, and thought I was successful. I shot the bow at an indoor shoot saw no other problems. Then I took the bow on an rabbit hunt. It was sitting at a angle in the back seat and I did hit some rough roads and it bounced around. I will say that I am 90 percent sure I didn't shut the door on this bow but it looks like I did. Anyway can this be fixed? Should I fix as best I can and just leave in bow rack? Is there someone on here that still does the bow hospital and maybe able to better save this bow then me?

The crack goes diagonal to the bottom of the overlay.
Suggestions appreciated

The glass is not damaged. The glass has lifted away for about one inch or so below the overlay.

Get some Smooth on. Heat it gently to make it thinner, apply then clamp gently.
If you don't mind a few p[ounds more draw weight you could also cut the tips off and cut new nock grooves/apply new overlays etc.

Just saw the add for bow hospital, think I will contact them. I really want to save this bow and be able to shoot it on occasion.
