Off the shelf DESIGNS and STYLES????
« on: May 03, 2016, 11:10:00 PM »
I am new to TRAD Bows. I have a 59 DH Palomar and a 62 Fasco Sonic. Both came with Stick on Arrow rests. I want to shoot both of these "Off the Shelf". I have looked at the BEAR version, and some others, but feel it would be relatively easy to make my own. I would love to see some of YOUR designs and styles!! Recommendations of adhesives that wont hurt the Shellac finish?
ALSO...What kind of recommendations of Padding or HIGH points to help arrow movement and flight?
Thanks, TJ

There are quite a few options for rests and strike plates. You can purchase them but it's very simple to make your own.  On my bows there are plain leather rests, hair-on sheep skin, the soft side of Velcro and one with nothing at all.

The Velcro has it's own sticky back but other wise they are stuck on with contact cement or even fletching glue.  I don't worry about the finish.  Any small pieces of wood like match sticks or toothpicks to alter rest position.

Hope that helps.  You are sure to be getting more suggestions.
