Right, If you were to taper each side of the power lam from the center of the lam to the tip the tips would do very little in the way of extension because they would be so thin. If you measure from the center line to the end of riser and then taper from the point of the eor to the end of the wedge you would have the right degree of angle. The power lam has to be the correct thickness to make the length come out where you want the power lam to end. Its not as difficult as it seems but does take a little time.
I do it mechanically by clamping the power lam onto the riser and running a straight edge down the riser ramp and marking the power lam on each side. Then marking the length I want the power lam to extend and mic down at that lenthand this tells me what to take off of the power lam for it to come out right. Comes out good every time.
