18" or 16" riser
« on: January 24, 2017, 07:43:00 PM »
I am going to purchase supplies for a R/D from Bingham Projects this week. My question to you guys is, what is the benefits/draw backs from going to a 16" riser from a 18" riser? Will the shorter riser have less stack than the 18"? Will the 16" be less forgiving for a not perfect release? Will the draw weight change?
Thanks for your help.

Depending on length of whole bow, shorter riser may make it a little smoother.

Might have less stack if a short bow.

Probably not much difference in being forgiving.

Will reduce draw weight by a couple pounds.

If using their plan, ask them,  they are very helpful!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I prefer a shorter riser that way I have more forgiveness in limb length. Using a longer riser like 19" or more and having a bow of 68 NTN still makes for some short limbs. My recurve has a 21" riser and 60" total, it stacks like crazy and its 45#.  Its a bear to pull for an old guy.
