holmgaard bow

I have a Osage holmgaard bow with skins and what to reduce the weight, can I trap the limbs or should I take it off the belly?

YES.  Either technique will work.  It might be easiest to scrape or sand the belly.

Reducing the width will keep the efficiency the same but reducing the belly will lower efficiency.
