Micheal and I met on a hog hunt around this time last year. We quickly became friends and have tried to get together for a couple hunts since to no avail. But we will soon!!
He's always been a recurve guy. In a conversation we had a few months back he mentioned wanting to get a longbow and give it a honest try. So I jumped at the chance to make him one. He didn't care what woods or anything and gave me free reign. He only requested to have phenolic or something in the riser to add a little more mass weight since he's always shot recurves. So I started rummaging thru the shop trying to come up with a plan and I found a set of bocote veneers that I won in a give away from KennyM a couple years ago. ( I honestly forgot all about them). Perfect!! Can't go wrong with bocote and black phenolic!! So here's what I came up with
Its a 60" 2 piece, 50#@28". I didn't get any full draw pics or two piece pics. Micheal said he would take some more pics and send them to me. I really hope he likes this bow. It'll be there on Monday. He hasn't even seen it yet.
