Riser de-lam
« on: August 12, 2017, 12:50:00 PM »
Guys, a buddy of mine asked if I could fix a bow he got from a relative. It is an all wood static recurve, with some tip lams and a laminated riser. The riser started to delaminate, and about half way the crack ran out across the lam and stopped. I was planning to try and use the shop vac to suck titebond3 into the crack and clamp it down. I have never tried anything like this, what do you guys think?  Also, it doesn't have a string, and no markings whatsoever, so how would I determine a string length? Thank you.

You be better off trying use thin CA glue and letting it wick down into the crack then clamp it. I dont think the tite bond is thin enough to get on all the surface area.
