Finishes for glass bows
« on: December 30, 2017, 03:22:00 PM »
Hi Guys.

Since I don`t live in the US, I can`t get finishes made for bows like Tunderbird and such, without paying a lot on shipping.
So, I want to ask- what other finishes can I use for glass bows?
Please mention the kind of finish and not just the brand name, since a lot of the brands you guys have- I can`t get here.
I prefere spray finishes since they are easier to apply then using a brush. Wipe on is also good....

Thanks
Dor

A polyurethane or alkyde/polyurethane that is used for wood floors is working fine.

I put the car wheel stuff on one a couple months ago and it is quite satisfactory.

I wanted to do another but it's too cold where the wife will tolerate it.    :)  It is probably available in Israel.  The desire for shiny wheels is universal.

I use the auto  clear coat first, then matte wheel finish(same brand) to dull it down for hunting bows.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Any good?

How about wipe on poly (or a homemade version of it- poly+thinner)?
I `m not very good with brushed finishes...   :(
