Riser antler overlays, how do they do them?

Just wondering if any of you guys have done them like Big jim or some of the others do. Do they get them flexable with heat then apply or are they just cut to fit.

Some of the horn they use will bend some. The antler not so much.

they soak it then dry it to shape then glue
