Two bows, two deer.
« on: January 22, 2018, 03:02:00 PM »
There is a blizzard going on so I had time to re-figure out how to use Imgur so I can post pics.  I had to get a new account it has been so long since I used it.

Anyway,  I made two bows last summer to use during deer hunting season.  I am not getting any younger so the first one (maple riser with black walnut stripe) is a whopping 44# @ 28.  Shot this buck in October.

The second bow with the red stripe came in at 49# @ 28.  No more opportunities at another mature buck so I let loose on this doe in late December.

Had a good season hunting.  Lot of quality time spent with my brother and cousin and lots of shooting opportunities.  Can't wait for turkey season.

Thanks for looking!
Enjoy the hunt!  - Mitch

Thanks Brad.  Give the old boy from PA a little time.

You inspired me to post some pics!

Nice Mitch!  Anything with antlers taken with a bow you made it a trophy IMO.  I've only taken a hog with one of my bows.  Still trying to get some venison.

Sitting here in bow shop, Mitchie Boy. Just cut your swap bow out. Not too shabby in my opinion..

Also did facets and sanded some guys bow from British Columbia. It's next on the tree.

I'm working on it, but yer gonna need to scout for some bigger bucks next year..

I'll do the tire tracks later. LOL

Thanks guys.

I agree BMorv - they are all trophies when I shoot them with my longbows.

I am saving the big ones for next year Roy.  Be careful cutting out that bow - don't want any slip ups.  I'll will be using it next year to get one of those deer.  Don't want any blood on it until then either!

Heck, I was dripping blood just buying lumber yesterday. Then at the register they squeezed the last few drops out....  :D
