Steam bending actionwood?
« on: February 04, 2018, 08:53:00 AM »
Anyone ever steamed any actionwood? I am considering giving it a go, but concerned about delamination.

Thoughts??

I guess i would ask...why ?   Cutting laminations and gluing can get you about any shape you want.

That's gonna be like trying to steam bend solid fiberglass...  There may be "wood" in the name, but it is so heavily impregnated with epoxy that there's little of the characteristics of wood left in the product.

I think you are thinking of dymondwood or whatever replaced it.

Actionwood is only dyed birch glued together.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
