Endless versus Flemish

For a Glass longbow is it better to have Endless loop or Flemish string.  You guys notice any difference in accuracy, performance or smoothness.
To get more in depth how about also comparing the 2 style twists with B-50 or Fast Flite.  My wood bows with B-50 flemish are quieter than a mouse.

There are more threads on this topic than most others and for some reason people get pretty passionate about it!    

Here is my take...

endless or flemish - both work fine, personal preference.

B-50 or FF - I prefer fast flight.  My bows shoot faster and are just as quiet.  I do have some bows with B-50 on them just because I have not replace the string.

I make my own continuous loop strings. I keep promising myself that I'll learn to make a Flemish twist.  Mainly because they look cool.

Flemish twist... FF or any of the newer materials work, as does B-50 work.

Well I'll tell ya something we did a test on an American Glass longbow with FF endless loop and FF Flemish.  The bow was 90% quieter using the Flemish string.  It shot almost as quiet as a wood bow using B-50 Flemish.
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

I have nothing empirical… but I think that the Flemish style string is quieter on my recurves than the endless strings. I have a mix on my bows. On longbows where the string doesn’t make contact with the limb I don’t perceive any difference.

It may have something to do with the material coming against the limb. The endless strings are usually served with a harder material than the strands. The Flemish just has the doubled over section for the loop.

Being motivationally challenged I think the Flemish is easier to make so pretty much stick to those. I can take my string building materials pretty much anywhere and can sit and make strings when I like. As far as the stretching and tuning process, it’s the same for either.

It comes down to what you wanna fool with. Flemish strings do look cool though.

:p    A lot of bow shops make Endless loop strings for their own bows and customers bows because they are quicker to make.   Simple is Simple does, its that simple.

I have made hundreds of endless loop strings over the years. With all the serving on both ends and center serving I burn about 45 min on each string. The past year I started making flemish strings, man those things are easy to make, about 25 min. And my hands don't cramp from all the serving. I don't think either is better than the other. Your preference.
