Anyone know what carbon arrow would be good for a 28# DAS master hunter? I draw 28"
Never had a bow this light before and have no idea where to start. I want to use a 125gr point with a 29.5 to 30" arrow.

Carbon express 350 with 2.6 pounds of lead weight added to the point! Your bow speed will be about 4 feet per hour!

That's pretty light for even the lightest carbon shafts. Have you considered wood or aluminum? 5/16 cedar shafts spined at about 40# should shoot well out of your bow. I'm sure there's a comparable aluminum shaft, but I don't know which number that would be, maybe an 1816. I don't really know too much about aluminum.

Some of the carbon makers now make a 600 series spine, which is scary light. Ought to work if you play with your length and point weight.

A 600 does very well out of a 40-45# bow but would be too stiff for this one.

When you ordered thoes limbs did you ask if that is the weight on a 17" riser? If they were marked for a 25" you will gain 8-9 lbs.

I havse recently had to drop way back in bow weight so I've been playing with light arrows. I discovered Carbon Tech Whitetail 25/45's. They are 650 spine and 5.9 gpi. Mine cut to 26" with 100 gr. tips are flying very nicely in 35-40# bows... I have a 25" draw. Left at full length and/or with heavier tips, I would imagine they would go even lighter in bow weight.
Haven't tried this yet, but someone has also advised that I try the ICS Hunter Jr. Youth Arrows. These are supposed to be good for bows under 40 lbs. and come 26" or 28".

At about $60 a dozen Beman ICS Energy shafts come in 780 and 690 spine and 6.3 gpp .006 straight and within 1.5 grains.
Easton Redlines are $90 a dozen same as the Beman except .003 straight.
Beman offers a Carbon Flash for $25 a dozen in 1000(5.6gpi)-900(6.4gpi)- 750(6.2gpi)-and a 630 at 7gpi.They are .006 straight and within 1.5 grains.
The Carbon flash uses overnocks and on these smaller shafts if you want to use a screw in point you will need a half out insert and smaller diameter points.
These are not hunting weight arrows but are fun for targets.I went through all this setting up my wife's 24# 3D bow.So far her 780 spine ICS energy seem more durable than aluminum.

Thanks Randy, I forgot about the riser difference. They would be at least 36-38lb on my riser, No problem!

I shoot carbon express thunderstom arrows. they are spined for 30-50 lbs. They only come in 29" length. but they soot sweeeeet. just about everyone I shoot with love them and shoot them. I shoot them from my 51# longbow and recurve. They are actually considered youth arrows. Try em I garantee youll like them and they are only $47-60. dependeing where you look. I shot them from a 30# hoyt gold medalist and they shot fine. Hope that helps ya.
