whither alt.archey etc?
« on: November 29, 2010, 05:15:00 PM »
Just wondering what happened to those unwieldy places on the web where we used to talk about archery before Tradgang and such.

Anybody remember those "alt.archery," alt.woodworking" and similar, or know if they all died?

Not sure how active they are, but newsgroups are still out there.  Problem is, most ISP's no longer provide newsgroup servers or service.  I finally paid for an independent newsgroup service and have been very happy with them.   www.usenetmonster.com  is who I use.  I think they cost me around a buck and a half a month.
