Film editing

Can anyone suggest a computer and software for editing hd video. Looking to start messing around with it as a hobby. I've heard that Macs are the way to go. Any info would help.
Thanks

what specifically does your post/question have to do with trad gang?  there are other forums that would serve your video question lots better than a trad bowhunting site.
