Imagelinky Question
« on: August 25, 2013, 11:45:00 PM »
Is anyone else on this site experiencing problems with Imagelinky.com?

I have been using this free photo upload site for a few years now instead of Photobucket because Imagelinky has been so simple to use but now I can’t get it to work. Is anyone else having this problem?

The last time I was able to use the site was in July but it took a few tries to get the images to show up here on TG and now I can’t get the images to show up at all. So I’m wondering if it’s my computer or if everyone is experiencing this problem. I checked the code or the file link that Imagelinky creates with some older files that I have posted and the files seem to be structured the same. So I’m kind of scratching my head wondering what’s going on with the photo upload site.

If you could, please upload a picture to this thread using Imagelinky so I can see if others are having the same problem as I am having or if the problem is with my computer.

Here is what I get now when I try to upload a photo from Imagelinky.

If you’re not familiar with Imagelinky here are the steps needed to upload pictures to TG.

1.) Resize all pictures to be posted to 640 pixels wide
2.) Open  http://www.imagelinky.com/
3.) Select the “Browse” button on the Imagelinky site. A window will open.
4.) Go to the place on your computer where the picture is stored, select the picture file and click the open button at the bottom right corner of the window box.
5.) From the Imagelinky window click the “Upload” button. In time, after the loading process is done, three boxes will appear.
6.) Copy everything from the third box “Forum Link”
7.) Paste everything that was copied into the Trad Gang message box and then select “Preview Post”

I've noticed the same also during the past couple months, so it's not your computer.  Using it was sooooo simple.

I just figured the folks running this site had reconfigured something to prevent its use.  :dunno:

I had just posted elsewhere that I was getting error messages and it would not let me post pictures.  Reading your post actually makes me feel better, and less challenged!! (LOL)

Same problem here.....used IL for years and now can't get a pic to upload. Did we determine the problem?

Well, I managed to screw up this easy one. When I copied and pasted the imgur images to my ad, it shows only the links not the pictures.  What am I missing?

you copied and pasted the wrong url link into your ad.

you posted this ...

Code: [Select]
http://i.imgur.com/JDuwLtLs.jpg... instead of this ...

Code: [Select]
and if you did the above, it would look like this ...

(which is waaay too small an image)

upload large images to your image archiver (in your case, that's imgur.com) and it will get automatically and permanently resized to 1024 wide.  when you load that 1024 wide image into a post at trad gang it will automatically and temporarily get resized to 640 wide.

Rob,
Thanks a million.   I think it worked!  I had already reduced the size to 640 x whatever and it still posted them fine. Now I'll try another one entering it full size.

I tried uploading the Iphone app. I got a message that said my phone I phone 3G I think wasn't compatible with the App. Any suggestions on that one Gangers?
