42#@26" draw??
« on: March 13, 2008, 07:16:00 PM »
I've got a Shrew longbow on order due in late summer. The bow will be 42#@26". What would be a good total arrow weight for whitetail? I will be using Magnus Stinger 2-blade broadheads. Thanks for all the advice.

I like arrows on the heavy side from light weight bows so my vote is for something in the 430 to 450 range with that broadhead.Lighter weight would work but most shots are close and the bow will be a little quieter with the heavy arrows. jmo

David if you are going to be pulling it to the 26" then for the bows protection and best results usually 8 to 10 grains per pound is figured. So 336 to 420. The most important thing is to get the arrows tuned to the bow for perfect arrow flight.

if Your shrew comes out to be anything like mine... You can get arrows in the 500's. Mine is 53#@26" & I shoot 630-650 grn arrows.
