I just spent a week up the north coast of WA bowfishing for sharks, rays and mullet. I was lucky enough to shoot all three on the first day. It would have to be one of the funniest hunts I've been on spending it with a dozen other people from my club Western Plaines Archers.
First up was a small leopard ray this little bloke had some fire about him when I had him about 6 feet away he went into attack mode coming at me with his tail in the air, after a bit of high stepping, screaming and side stepping I walked him to shore.
We removed the barbs and arrow got some pics and I released him.
Second was a 118cm reef shark that I "called" into 2 meters one arrow to the head we never put up much struggle and I soon landed her.
We ate her that night in a curry that we were all regretting the next day. She measured a bit over 17dp.
Lastly was the smallest mullet in the ocean and the best shot I made for trip, I got him through the gills at 4 meters.
The amount of wildlife just blew me away seeing dolphins, turtles, hundreds of sharks and all sorts of rays. I can't wait for next year to do it all again!
