I have tried and just don't get it. Is there a shoot in coming up in NY or Pa where someone will be doing some knapping and don't mind giving some lessons.
The size of the horns don,t matter
as long as it has a good tale.

Stone Knife

There is a knappers show in Letchworth state park sometime in August, go to that one if you want to learn from some of the best around.

I have been learning from a book, and asking questions on here. So far I only do preforms, Im looking to learn how to work spalls now. Letchworth is supposed to be really good. Havent been there myself...yet.

I Knap a bit, I'm not a teacher by any means. I went to the Linc school of knapping. I've turned out some nice pieces but I've also made a larger pile of blood laced rubble. I'd be willing to point you in the right direction. I live pretty close and I work in Vestal. Shoot me a PM!

If you're interested theres a 2 day knapping course being held in Owego in August, teacher is Craig Ratzat.I think I'm going to that myself.

The Stone tools show is August 21-24 At Letchworth park. If you need or want tools, materials and pointers don't miss that show.

Linc

Craig Ratzat's video's are very informative.Up close shots and Craig is a great teacher.

Letchworth is the place to go. I've only been there once but I learned a lot.

Lee, I bet my blood laced rubble is bigger than your blood laced rubble.   :biglaugh:  Is your knapping/bowyering workshop open or still in progress?
