Martin ml-10 & ml-14s
« on: March 17, 2008, 09:15:00 PM »
About a year ago I bought a ml-10 from a fellow member. Now I find ml-10s and ml-14s being mentioned on various traditional
web sites. Anyone have information regarding these bows? What was the production run? Are they a H. Hill type or knock off? Please
let me know.

 Thanks, Corvus.

Martin has discontinued a few models the ML10,ML14 and the Vision in favor of some new models.The Savannah 62",Bamboo Viper 64" and the Venom 66".My buddy bought a 68" ML10 Pioneer years ago it was pretty much a straight limbed bow with alittle reflex and no tip overlays.I have a new ML14 Mountaineer it is 68",has a very mild R/D and micarta tip overlays.I do have my ML14 up for sale(too many bows).

Corvus,
I purchased a used ML-10 last year for my son.  The bow had been spray painted camo, but cleaned up really nice.  Looks great.  Anyway, like you, I wanted to get some info on it.  I checked out the Martin website last year and found the following info on the bow.....
ML-10 Pioneer(trade mark) Longbow. Draw weights: 30-70, Brace Height: 6 7/8"-7 3/8", AMO Bow Lenght: 68", Mass Weight: 1 lbs. 4 oz.  Description:  Redisigned laminations and a slight deflex in the limbs have increased the performance and greatly reduced hand shock in this purely traditional longbow.  The Pioneer's handle is crafted from Bubinga with Maple and black glass limb laminates.  The Pioneer also boasts a laced leather grip.  Available in RH or LH.  The Martin website had this info listed for a ML-10 produced in 1997.  Note: the ML-10 works better at a higher brace height.
