46 @ 28 Where to start with carbon arrows

Toelke Chinook 46@28.  I am drawing 26.5.  Was thinking of either CE Heritage or GT Traditionals.  Where would you start with arrow spine and point weight?

I had a Chinook that was 47#@28 and my draw is the same as yours. I was shooting gold tip trad .500 cut to 28.5" with regular insert and 175 grain point. They flew like darts and hit with authority. My Chinook was surprisingly fast and surprised me when I tuned the arrows to it. They're a very good shooting bow

carbons have a huge dynamic spine range, which is why you see 35-50, etc. 

for my 29" draw and 45-53 pound holding weight bows i use the old beman bowhunter 500's @ 29.5" and between 140 and 250 grains up front.  yep, you read that right - and they fly like darts shooting split finger with a tab.

I also shoot a 45# @28 Longbow.

My Draw length is @ 27.

My arrows are Beman Centershot 500 cut @ 29"

Shooting 225 grains up front.

I experimented with using shorter arrows cut to 26.25 to 26.5. the weight up front needs to increase to 300 grains up front using lead buckshot.

I shoot 46 at 28", GT Traditional 3555, 100 gr insert, 125 gr point. Flies very well-- bullet holes thru paper.

I’m at 45/46 @ 28.5 up through 48/49 @ 28.5 depending on the bow.  I use GT 500 at 29 3/4” with 200 up front, or black Eagle instinct arrows at 29 3/4” with 225.  I would think the GT 500’s should fit the bill.

I shoot bows 44-50# and I like CE Heritage series in 150 or 90. Both fly well; the 150's are a little heavier.

I too would say 500s or the 150s. I shoot a 45x@28 Super Kodiak. I draw to 27. Bareshafting a 30" GT 500 with a 125gr point showed slightly weak for me, which corrected with applying fletching.. I bare shaft tuned after viewing this video. It cut the tune time to virtually no time at all.

 thanks for putting that Ken Beck video up . cleared up some questions for me I had over complicated the process . I orderd 46@28 limbs for the A&H I'm going to use the info form this post and video

At that weight and your draw length I would start with a 90 in the CE or the 600 spine in the GT and play around with point weight to what tunes best.

Well I have been shooting some full length CE Heritage 90's with a 145 grain point and arrows are flying good.  I will try and do some bare shaft tuning this weekend, weather permitting, and see where they end up.  Kind of like shooting a full length arrow.  Arrow are weighing exactly 460 grains.
