That was a great story and a great accomplishment! Killing a wild turkey with a bow without using a blind is something few of us have done. To have that be your first kill with traditional tackle sets the bar mighty high for future hunts. Congratulations!

Thanks.  I've deluded myself for years that I'm an okay hunter who just happens to hunt crappy places (CA public land).  Whenever I stumble on the rare occasion to hunt private property, it usually goes pretty well.  I guess for now, I'll just keep telling myself that story.
