Rookie from New Mexico
« on: March 20, 2008, 11:21:00 AM »
First a big shout out to this forum for all of its knowledge and to the people involved.   For the last 2 weeks or so I have been reading/watching everything I can get my hands on regarding trad. archery.  Needless to say I think I'm hooked.  Little over a week ago got my first bow, a Martin X-150 @ 50lbs, I have been flinging as many arrows as I can during the day.  Yesterday got my 2nd bow from the mailman, a 1966 Bear Grizzly @44lbs.
I am hoping to find some nearby New Mexican archers that could lend a rookie a hand with technique and also hunting advise.   thanks, brian.

thanks guys, glad to be here.

Whip, good luck on the drawing lottery.  From my understanding the lotto system here is like that of the Powerball, not easy.   I'm putting in for some of the smaller game tags this year.  Once I hone my skills more I'm definitly going  after some of the monster elk and muleys here.

Would be much appreciated if some could point out my wrongdoings in the video I have posted over in the shooters area.  So far finding the trad bowhunters here in NM is proving rather difficult.  thanks, brian

Hey Brian.
You must be close to me.
I have several tagets at my house but usually go over to SCBA because it's so close.
I shoot a lot but miss a lot too.

Welcome to the campfire. I haven't been very active of late, other priorities have consumed my time. I am however hoping to get enough practice time in to give my Martin-Hatfield TD a shot at an Oryx this fall.
