Hey guys,
A while back as I got my form more dialed in I started nicking my nose with the string upon release. I took the red spot and occasional broken skin as a badge of honor given that Rod Jenkins and John Demmer both put tape on their nose to protect against such an issue. But while practicing today I actually gave myself a fat lip. And drew blood! I mean, I'm all for suffering a bit if I can get that arrow where I want it to go, but I need to practice a lot and have a feeling my face won't hold up for the number of arrows I'll need to shoot to get to the level I'd like to get to. HA!
The only minor form tweak I've made recently is I've started aligning the string with the outer edge of the riser in my peripheral vision in an effort to get my eye in a consistent spot over the arrow when I'm at anchor. This really helped a lot with the windage of my shots, and didn't lead to fat lips over the last few weeks, but could this be the reason I'm hitting myself? I'm at a loss.
Have any of you ever experienced this? Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thanks!
