Refletching wood arrows

How do I do this without damaging the wood?

I guess it depends on the glue used. I've done it being very careful with a sharp razor. I nowc use fletch tape and wrap fore and aft. I just remove the wraps and scrape the remaining tape off.

I always just use a sharp knife and carefully scrape them off.  I now use a utility knife with a carpet blade in it.  That blade is curved and fits the shaft well.

Most glues used on woods are a lacquer type.  Put a little lacquer thinner or acetone in a glue bottle and run just a bit down the fletch base.  This softens the glue and makes the fletch much easier to remove.  BAK's carpet blade works well from there.

I read on one of these sires guys just dip the shaft in acetone-takes off paint and fletching-and fletching is reusable.  Not tried it but it may be an option
