This has been a dream field knife of mine for over a decade. I finally got a chance to make it. Lin was generous enough to help mentor me on his process for making stag look so dang perfect (Thank you!!!). I could have fancied it up with mosaics and a higher end finish on the metal but it is going to be a user for me anyway. Heck it's already scratched from use before I could get the leather sheath done for it and photos of it.
This is my Woodsman pattern (4 1/8" blade length) in CPM3V and Stag: 0.250” thick CPM 3V steel at 61 HRC, skeletonized and tapered tang, distal tapered blade, black liners, Sanbar Stag dyed mahogany by Culpepper, and brass hardware with leather and Kydex sheath. The Kydex sheath is a simple pancake design with 1/4” drain hole silhouetting the tip of the blade that is set up to run a TekLok for ambidextrous carry in vertical, inverted, horizontal, and canted positions. The leather is top grade, hand selected 11-13oz Harmon Oak vegetable tanned cow hide with full coverage tri-weave tooling, color matched, with double stitched and tapered 3-layer welt, a fixed belt loop, and a removable dangler loop in antiqued brass hardware.
