Hummingbird Kingfisher
« on: August 15, 2018, 09:43:40 PM »
My wife, granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ETAR this year, despite all the mud. We were reunited with many old friends, and made some new ones.

We really enjoyed Linda Graham’s shooting seminar and especially speaking to her afterwards. I’ve always heard good things about Hummingbirds, but had never shot one.

Then, Friday evening, we met a new friend at the blanket swap. Don Rice, from the Baltimore area, had a 2015 Kingfisher for sale. He let my granddaughter Halah and I shoot it. We were both impressed. After ETAR was over, I contacted Don, and he still had the bow. A couple of texts later and the bow was headed my way.

I’m impressed. The specs are; 60” and 44# @ 28”. Osage and bacote.

Ben made some of the smoothest bows I ever shot, of the many that have passed through my hands I probably miss the H'birds the most. His longbows were something else also-fine craftsmanship and finish as well. He is missed by those who had the pleasure of meeting him at shoots.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

What nice bows. Never pulled the trigger. Wish I had one now. Here is a small vid of Hickok45 (utuber) Shooting his King Fisher. Also has a a longbow Version both custom made for him years ago.

That was actually my first 5 arrow group from about 15 yards. Also my best of several that I shot.

Thanks for the video!

Think I got a keeper!

That is a very good looking bow Wayne! I've heard nothing but good things about the hummingbird bows and they're definitely among the best looking bows I've seen.
