I love the part where it shows the guns not penetrating but the broad headed Arrow does. That's a great testimony

Fun bit of history.
Back in the Revolutionary war period Benjamin Franklin proposed equipping the Continental Army with bows: dramatically faster rate of fire, longer effective range, easily produced, higher reliability and all at lower cost. Smart man.

As a kid, I heard about this type of testing, but this is the first time I have actually seen anything "official". Pretty cool, huh?

My Stepdad was a chopper pilot in Vietnam, he told me a story once about dropping a single SF guy off in the jungle with a nothing more than a recurve and a handful of arrows. Of course he also drank a lot and took a pretty good shot to the head in 'Nam so he might have just recalling a scene from Rambo II.

If not mistaken, there was use of bows and arrows during WW II European theatre by special units and there was recorded at least 1 actual enemy kill. Will have to do some research....

Riverboat guys set fires along the river banks with flaming arrows to remove VC sniper positions.

Typical Hollywood sound effects, but a good comparison of a lethal arrow..
