Freshman Year Deer Hunting
« on: March 26, 2008, 04:47:00 PM »
This will be my first year hunting big game- mule deer (have only hunter little critters running the desert and treeline previously).  Would like to know if anyone has a checklist of necessities they carry in their trail bag for hunts.  Oh, bow and arrows are already at the top of the list and TP LOL. I'll adjust according to my needs locally.  Will be ground stalk/blind method.  Thanks.

Leave prepared for any emergancy. When I head out to the woods I pack to stay a couple of nights at least. Got lost in the national forest, walked 14 miles through some of the natiest stuff I have ever seen, Took 13 hrs until we finally got to somewhere... That day I was not prepared and could have life threatning...Thank god it wasnt, I learned a valuable lesson though....Most important tell someone where you plan on hunting.. Have fun and keep us posted  :campfire:
