In response to Ken B, in the hunting practice thread:
I can make arrows from 450 to 550 grains, with 133 grain Zwickys and now 151 grain Grizzlies ( actual averages, not the advertised). My bows are ranging from low 40 pounds to mid 50's. I spine using the nails at 26 inches method.
My present "go to bow" is 44# at the 24.5" draw. The bow pulled heavier, but stacked, hurt my shoulder on extended sessions. I brought it down in weight, but still I do better with heavier arrows, at 500 grains, and shooting blunts today, liked blunts at the 550 grains weight. They seem more forgiving than 500 grains hunting arrows that I had put target tips on, shooting a portable little target my girl and I took on a hike.
To get a parallel shaft in the 11/32 diameter, weight goes down. I want to have a small diameter behind the broadhead, but still want that above 500 grain weight, so I may go longer, again, on shafting length. I have barrel tapered as well.
