Preserved the original writing by carefully sanding  around it and lightly sanding over it. The writing was/is usually under a couple of coats of finish. I did remove a name that was on it though. And the writing on the limb is new to match the current specs.
That’s one good thing about tbird and Krystal. The are highly compatible with other finishes and usually blend with out any discoloration. The only time I’ve ever had an issue is with some older Bows
