Question for longbow guys
« on: August 31, 2018, 08:01:00 PM »
Fellows if you don’t mind a while ago I posted about my loving my whip. It’s kind of a hybrid but it’s going nowhere. Well actually it did but I just traded one whip for another of more weight.
I also posted about traditional style longbows and my style of grip. I shoot w the bow off one side of my lifeline. I’m heeling no bow so let’s not go there.
I was told I’d prob not be real happy w most traditional style longbows.
Ok so I didn’t listen. Got a Robertson Primal. I was told it had a deep locator grip. Idk it doesn’t look remotely deep to me but the grip actually suits me and I find it very usable.
My question is, the Robertson is going nowhere but I’d like another like it.
Both performance and grip that won’t fight me. Who should I look to??
Hard to see grip but it’s not quite straight

If you like that Robertson you'd love a Toelke Super D!  Or one of my other favorites, a Mohawk Sparrowhawk!

The stock Super D grip isn't quite as deep as a Robertson's, it's a little narrower and more rounded overall, but large enough to be very comfy.  The locator isn't pronounced but IMHO just enough.

WESTBROOK isn't wrong, but having options is fun  :bigsmyl:  The Mohawk is another to research for sure though if the Toelke isn't your thing.  I must warn you though, the Super D can be infectious.

I feel you on staying with what you know and like, but Ill suggest a Kimsha Mattawoman II, which sounds similiar to your Robertson.  Thats what I know and like.
