All the stain work is done with Feibings.

Trepil,

Over in the "How To" forum there is a post by Derek (Bard1)on how to splice feathers.  There are a lot of other good posts there on all kinds of things.  Here is the direct link:

I got some arrows from Fletcher, I already busted 4 nocks and an arrow.  These are arrows are basic, but straight as hell.  Awesome best wood arrows I have ever shot.

I just finished these. I usually use a Minwax stain and then dip the crown. But I'm liking the idea of just dipping the crown with a stain....

tried to splice feathers fo the first time. Was easier than I expected, but I can see that I have a litle more work on the finishing details. By the way, this is the colors of the Norwegian flag, so these arrows will be real patriots:)

I just finished some Surewood douglas fir shafts in 80#-85# spine weight. I used a darker stain that really brought out the grain in these. The pictures just don't do them justice though. I have gone to 4 4" feathers and really love them! Better arrow flight and much quieter than the 3 5" shields I was using.  Surewood! Check them out!  I have been happy with the Minwax stains. This one is English Chestnut. I usually use Cherry which is a softer tone.

I made these early this year. Tapered POC shafts from Wapiti Archery. They are 50-55# spine with a weight of ~500 grains.

These have green analine on the crown and a light tan Rit on the shaft.
