Arrow spine for my new custom bow
« on: September 16, 2018, 10:33:25 AM »
Hallo Guy
I need some help with starting arrow spine on my new 65lb scythian recurve bow. I want to use 200 gr vpa broad heads with a 100gr insert. Upfront. I was thinking of starting of with 340spines. What do you guys think? I already have some 200gr field points to do bareshaft tuning. The shelf on the bow is cut to just outside of centre.

Regards
Johandre

Not knowing your draw length makes this advice a bit half baked.. But lets assume that you are drawing the full 65 lbs. The 340's should be a good spine to start.  Leave them full length at first. You can always have them cut if necessary.
Good luck, BigJim

If not 340’s, then probably 300’s.
