Non-typical owners

For those of you who own a brack non-typical, how does it compare for you to the Quest? I'm on the "list" for a new set of limbs for my Quest within the next few months and I have toyed with the idea of changing the order to a NT bow. (Of course, being a "collector of nothing" that means the Quest would have to go. ;-)

Anyway, I shot both. Bill sent me a NT prototype. I believe it was 54@28 or 29. I shoot a Quest which is 50@28. My thoughts were that the Quest draws smoother, but the NT is much quieter. They seem to be similar in terms of stability and minimal hand shock. The biggest reason I have considered the NT is simply how quiet it was. I have only ever shot recurves - not at all interested in a long bow - and I have to work to get the Quest as quiet as I like it, including having to brace it significantly higher than the recommendation.

Any thoughts on the comparison between the two? And yes, I did have a couple of conversations with Bill on this one.

I don't know about the quest but the non-typical is one I should have got on the list for.  The riser is just a little big for me.  If you like the quest riser I think the nt would give you the best of both worlds.  My .02.
It's not the arrival, it's the journey.

I have both and think they are both outstanding bows.  I have to say that I think the NT slightly edges out the Quest...but only by a whisker.  I think the NT is a bit quieter and draws a little smoother, but both bows shoot a quick arrow, are super stable, and posess superior workmanship.  I have three of Bill's bows and the NT is my favorite!

Quest 60" 57# @ 27" (deflexed riser)
NT 62" 58# @ 28"

Shot them both this evening before dark, switching back and forth using the same arrows.  My conclusion - they shoot the same, my groups remained consistent and I could not tell any difference in accuracy or speed.  (I think the Quest is slightly faster but I really cannot tell)

Only Differences:

Weight:  Quest is a tad heavier.  The riser is slightly larger.
Sound:  NT is quieter.  Quest is also quiet but has a little more of a "twang" sound.  (both bows have hush puppy silencers)

I go back and forth on which I like better.  I think my Quest is prettier but like the quiet thump of the NT vs. the twang of the Quest.  I shoot one for a while and then switch.  They shoot so much alike that one makes a great back up for the other.

You cannot go wrong with either.  Great bows!

I put a set of limb savers on my Quest and was amazed at the difference.

I have 3 Quests and 1 NT.  The NT is my go to bow but I can pick up any of my Quests and shoot them just as well.  Quests draw smoother but the NT really pushes an arrow.  Let Bill make the limbs the way he shoots and you will be amazed at how fast and quiet either bow will be.  He has a special core he likes in his personal bow.
