Scott, That pierce point overdrive is amazing!

So my Primal Styk came in and am really loving it so far! It is quite different from what I am accustomed to shooting, but in a good way. The bow is just so dang fun to shoot. It is so point-able and forgiving, it is like shooting a slingshot. It is by far the quietest bow I have ever shot as well.

The specs on mine are 64" 63#@27" juniper riser and elm veneers - Yes I had to put my big boy pants on for this one. I typically shoot around 55#@28" with recurves and hybrids, but surprisingly the weight really isn't bothering me too much. I shoot close to 28" with my recurves, but think im around 27" with this bow which I expected.

I had been set on my 60" TallTines recurve for the season, but honestly think I am going to be comfortable enough to hunt with bow as well already.

I will try to post some pictures but still dont think I can get it to work on this new platform without Imgur or photoshop only my MacBook or iPhone.

Glad to hear you're liking the Primal Styk.  The Robertsons have always built shooters with style.  As I mentioned before since you like this style of bow if you ever get the chance try a Mohawk Sparrowhawk, I really think you'd like it.  A couple steady weeks shooting that weight you'll be good to go.

I own a Super D but also own a 2 pc Whip which I bought first. I love both bows; and they cool thing about them is they look like sisters. Same juniper veneers and dark riser woods. These Toelkes are obviously not for everyone but for me they are just plain awesome.

I would like to see some profile photos of your Primal Styks....both unstrung and strung.  You can never have too many bows and I just may a Primal Styk on my 'get list' :)

Carcajou I love those pierce points!!!

Thanks Homebru!

I have been shooting some old 29" 400 Axis trads with 200gr. points, 75 inserts, and a 2" 25gr footings that I had laying around. They shoot pretty darn good! I also have some 400 FMJs 29.5" that I have played with that seem to shoot about the same. I am really itching to make a nice set of heavy woodies for it though..

I am going to work on posting pictures a little later today and try and get more pictures up.

It has an obvious RD profile while unstrung and from what I have seen the Overdrive is just more RD but unnoticeable while strung.

This may push me to try an Overdrive as well! We shall see!

I own a Super D and absolutely love the bow. I have not shot a Primal Styk but would like to do so one day. I will say this about the Super D, it has made me appreciate the simplicity and effectiveness of shooting a ASL.
