Switching to a tab over a glove
« on: November 18, 2018, 05:37:45 PM »
Hello everyone!
I have a couple questions for the experts.  I have shot a longbow with a shooting glove for several years however, I have always struggled as the temperatures have dropped keeping my gloved hand warm.  So, I am experimenting with a Bateman tab and really like it so far.  My hand is warmer, I think I have picked up some speed but my question is do you trim your tab and have do you really pick up speed when shooting a tab.  I see some benefits to switching but would like to hear what all of you are doing as well.

Thanks everyone!!

I went to a tab for the same reason years ago. I couldn't keep my finger tips warm in a cold Wisconsin stand. I trim mine so when I tighten the string it (deep hook) it comes to the tips of my fingers. I'm sure there is a more correct way but it works for me.
