Just got back from my annual 10 day bowhunt with family back in my home state of West Virginia. I saw a lot of bucks and deer movement all week - saw the season's first snow, endured some cold & wet days afield, and had an all-around great time.
I actually missed this buck on day one at 35 yards. I proceeded to see him 4 of the next 7 days...he was taunting me.
On my last evening, I was headed to my stand when I spotted him tending a doe. I luckily saw them first and wind was in my favor. I began to slowly stalk with little to lose. As fate would have it, I stalked them for 3 hours slowly gaining all the time. I ended my hunt by putting a Zwickey Delta through the heart at 15 yards within the last 30 minutes of the last evening.
