Thanks for the replies so far.
I know that the weight up front will remain the same but what has me wondering is the insert length. The aluminum inserts are shorter than the brass so I'm wondering if the brass insert will cause the arrow to act slightly stiffer. I guess what I'm getting at is if the brass insert is 1/2" longer is that like shortening the shaft a like amount because that is less shaft to flex?
I'm more curious now so I think I'll have to experiment.
If anyone else has opinions let me know.

BTW Four2, depending on the bow you're shooting and the degree of centershot, string setup, and your release you could probably work out that shaft with a 300 gr. tip. I've used Axis 500's from 48-64# bows. I've got 400's but I never had much luck tuning them on bow less than 55# or so. But, that's me and every shooter is different. I have a buddy shooting a Widow 52@26, who can bareshaft an Axis 340 w/ 145 gr. tip perfectly. Go figure. Just try it and see if it works.
