Well I can tell you one thing, the TG doesn't  stand for Tradgang. It's a separate  organization started here on Tradgang that does a lot of good for a lot of people.... I'm sure one of the members will chime in. We are very proud to host them here on Tradgang

TGMM is an organization that collects funds through the annual St Jude’s auction to provide bows and arrows for children who otherwise wouldn’t be able to get them, and similar charitable purposes.  As far as what TGMM means, join and you’ll find out.  Look hard enough and you’ll probably find out anyway, but that would spoil the fun!

Used to be, the only way you could find out, was to donate $150 in the St Jude Auction. After you donated, you would be contacted, and enlightened. That’s how I found out. To me, the donation to St Jude’s was worth the money, even if I did not like what I found out about TGMM. What I found out was all good too!!!!

Don’t know if they are “letting the cat out of the bag” nowadays or not, so my lips are sealed!!!

Sorry for the confusion, Terry.  I am a member of TGMM, but I didn’t proofread my own post.  Memberships to TGMM are sold as a part of the fundraising efforts in the St Jude’s auction, but the activities of TGMM in providing bows and arrows to deserving kids and the other things they do have nothing to do with the St Jude’s auction.

TGMM stands for ... Ha! You gotta donate to St. Judes during the auction to find out. I've been out of the loop on this site for a while lately but I can tell you that the TGMM is worth the price of membership just because you're helping out St. Judes. The best thing about charitable donations is that if done with the right heart and spirit, the true benefit comes from helping out a great organization. Becoming a TGMM member is simply icing on the cake. As a point of clarification, TGMM is not affiliated with St. Judes.

Dave I removed my comment because it was not directed at you. I remove some Wise Guys post and should have removed mine as well. No worries

As some may be turned off by "join and find out," it really is just a sub-group of members here on tradgang that have donated a sum of money to the annual St. Jude auction via one of the TGMM donation threads. That's it.

Now, we do try a monthly giveaway of a bow, with arrows and an armguard and tab to one lucky new young archer. We ask in return that when the child outgrows the bow that it be given away to another new young archer via the Zgiveaway forum here on TG. We also like to see a post with the new young archer enjoying shooting the bow. The funds are raised for these bows, arrows, leather gear via an auction within the TGMM forum. Items sold within the forum are donated by TGMM members. We only have an auction when funds are needed for supplies to make the bows and arrows. I believe Mike's Archery Leather donates the armguards and tabs outright.  Each archers gets four wooden arrows with each bow giveaway. Our dear friend Mike Mecredy makes the bows. TGMM supplies the funds for materials only. Mike donates his time and skills for each bow. Same with the arrows, materials only, then they are made without charge.

Otherwise, we just harass each other on the TGMM forum throughout the year.  :biglaugh:

We would love to have new members. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the primary benefactor when you join. Afterwards, it's just us getting bow and arrows into the hands of kids. You can only join during the annual TG St Jude auction.

All are invited and welcome.

If you need some kind of answer about the initials TGMM, just think of it as trad gang merry mentors, or whatever else might fit. ;)

A $150 donation to St. Jude via one of the TGMM auction threads when the auction comes around again.

Well said Bud, I especially like that last sentance .... There should be nothing secret about TGMM it's just folks doing good things for the children at St Judes and bringing new young archers to Traditional archery.
