Bateman is all i use.  After 10s of thousands of arrows mine looks like new.  They're the best.

I really like the Saunders fan tab.  Wears lime iron and unaffected by moisture.

I don't believe it's terribly difficult to make your own.  That being said, it took me 20 years to find the Eagle's Flight Archery tab and now I have several of them.

Any tab made with Cordovan leather is a good tab in my opinion.

3 of those mentioned above are made from Cordovan.

The Saunders fan tab I do not know what it's made from.

Ok, literally hours after I bragged about how great my bateman tab was, figuring I'd never need another one I dropped mine out of my tree at dark.  Luckily there was snow on and I had a flashlight and was able to locate it.

Just shows that the old adage---Pride goeth before the fall----couldn't be truer.

Lots of good tab options out there as listed above and cordovan leather is certainly hard to beat.

I have shot several 3 under tabs including the widows.  I haven't found one that that works better for me than the Barbee tab.  It has a Cordura nylon face and leather backing, which works as good wet as it does dry.

The Yost tabs are pretty dang nice. Last one you will need till you lose it. The face is replaceable, and you keep the plate.

But if you like the fit of the "plate" on the Widow tab, the Safari Tuff is a great choice.

Ive been using fred eichler 3 under tab and like it, doesnt break the bank and last a long time before getting flimsy. My yost was great but wore out rather quickly, however it does seem more repeatable than the eichler.

Tippit has the right idea!  If you need some shell cordovan remnants to build your own I have it available on my website.

Or if you prefer to have one built for you with cordovan I also offer tabs.

This and much more is available at: www.traditionsleathercraft.com

I make my own to get the exact size and thickness I need. Most likely a little thicker than most for the ole arthritic fingers. I have 1000 denier nylon, cordovan shell, and calf hair. I can't tell a lot of difference they all work well. >>>>-------> Ken
