Has anyone here been working with the new Morrison Max6 limbs?
« on: January 19, 2019, 05:30:24 PM »
I asked on another forum and got some very favorable reviews and great perspectives on the Max6s, but wondered if any of my Trad Gang friends had had a chance to get a set and "wring them out", yet.

As a result of the years that creeping up on me and the continued challenges I fight with Multiple Sclerosis, I know I need to start thinning my collection of really great bows.  You will probably see a few popping up on the Classifieds within a month.  I should never, ever consider buying another bow or any more archery equipment.  But...

Since I heard of their announcement, I have been intrigued by the new limbs that Brandon has developed with Bob Morrison's input.  My favorite hunting bow is a Cheyenne recurve that has accounted for a good number of game animals.  The fit of the riser is better for me than any other bow I've used, and I am reluctant to take a chance on something new.  But as the physical challenges grow, I am looking for a way to keep really good hunting performance even as I am forced to step down yet again in poundage.  From all I have heard and seen so far, it may be that the Max6 limbs from Morrison could be an answer.

From experience, I seem to prefer a bolt down style limb over ILF, and it looks like there would be two possibilities here.  I could send in my favorite riser to have it re-worked to handle the new limb, or look at one of the new MTX risers that have been developed.  In a perfect world, I would simply have the new limbs fitted to my old riser, but I'm not sure that is a possibility.

I hope to speak with Brandon soon, but was trying to learn what I can first and ask the very best questions I can.  If any of you have experience with the Max6, I would certainly appreciate any opinions or input!

Thanks so much,  Daryl
