string materials; what do you shoot?
« on: April 01, 2008, 06:50:00 AM »
with all of the new products out there i was wondering what people are shooting?  bcy vs. brownell,  how many strands and what type of serving?  also do you pad the loops?
i shoot bcy 8125 14 strands with padded loops and halo serving out of my 43 # recurve.

I curently use 12 strand 8125 with the loops padded to 18. But I think I am going to change back to my 10 strand TS-1 with the loops padded to 14. I like the TS-1 better.

Another vote for TS-1, hands down best (quietest and still good speed) on all the bows I've put it on. Same with halo serving.

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Dynaflight '97 is my first choice, with 8125 coming in a pretty close second.  62XS for the serving, with Halo coming in second.  Strand count depends on the bow.  Loops padded to 18 strands.

12 strand D-97 with 6 additional strands in the loops and braided serving material that matches the nocks for the arrows.

FF plus string.
